GRANDTEC USB-to-HDMI adapter

You've probably seen a co-worker or colleague using multiple LCD monitor for the job of the computer. Research at the University of Utah shows that using multiple monitors can significantly improve worker productivity. E 'possible to integrate multiple monitor if the computer had HDMI or DVI, but computers are equipped with this feature are still rare. Today, fewer than 2 percent of workplaces have more than a fewmonitor. We need a simpler solution.

A new USB-HDMI adapter module recently introduced that might help. The Electronic GRANDTEC Grand HD Cinema "(GHD-2000) is inserted into a USB port for use as a base for up to 6 monitors (4 for Mac). This is also an easy way to implement a HDTV adapter for a laptop. This module is about the size of an AC power adapter for a laptop. What makes this product different from its competitors isintegrated circuit chips and software drivers, the "Display Link" technology.

Display Technology Link

The chips used criticisms are made by a company called DisplayLink (formerly Newnham Technology, website: displaylink.com). The company is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, with research and product development in Cambridge, England. DisplayLink is a fabless operation to allow the production of integrated circuits was probably made in Taiwan.

DisplayLinkThe technology supports 32-bit color at all resolutions. When the native resolution can be detected automatically link to the native resolution of your screen. The video output format is suitable for high-definition (720p) and audio functions are integrated for a single channel. DisplayLink provides much of the software to automatically configure the video card and a USB port.

DisplayLink compresses the video signal for transmission over the USB connection to improvebandwidth. The video signals, including HDTV signals, not compressed, require huge bandwidth. If the source of the encoded video signal (see MPEG) and then the computer must first decode the signal. Then the driver software to compress the signal using DisplayLink technology, DisplayLink patented video compression codec. This is basically transcoding, which is one of the reasons why the system requirements are substantial. The compressed signal is then sent via USBlink to the card.

Once the signal through the USB connection, the drive signal decompression for transmission over the HDMI connection. HDMI is able to communicate uncompressed HDTV signals.

There are some misleading information online that says this product is HDCP capable, which means that the system includes BluRay DVD-compatible. The DisplayLink technology is currently not compatible with HDCP, because DisplayLink can manipulate the compression codec encodedpackages.

fast-moving images may indicate the ability of this technology due to limitations in USB 2.0 speed.

System Requirements

The minimum system requirements for this application has an XP or Vista operating system with a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or equivalent. Minimum required RAM is 512 MB. The converter module is based on the computer's CPU to encode the video to run. The product is plug and play with the includedsoftware needs and quick to install.

Power for the converter is powered from the USB port, and an AC power is not needed.

Videowall

E 'can be a "video wall" with up to 6 monitors to enter, but only one audio channel can be used. Each screen image can be rotated independently in increments of 90 degrees.

The system supports an extended desktop video (a single image across multiple monitors) or mirroring (the same image displayedacross multiple displays). A separate USB-to-HDMI adapter module is required for each monitor in extended desktop.

With several USB-to-HDMI adapters, each monitor shows a separate program. The restraint can computers to each channel because of the encoding process, is the system.

Many people now use their computers to television and film. There is a need to be able to easily see the signal from the computer "on a larger HDTV. The GRANDTECElectronic Grand Cinema HD is ideal for this purpose. The Grand Cinema HD currently sells online for $ 130 - $ 150.
